Tyler Perry Reveals He Attempted Suicide Multiple Times

Tyler Perry has opened up about attempting to end his own life, following the news of the death of dancer Stephen’ tWitch’ Boss. The popular filmmaker released a video on Instagram expressing his shock at tWitch’s death and sharing a bit of his own journey. “I just want to take you back to a time in my life when I tried to commit suicide, a couple of times, because it was so dark, I didn’t think it would get any better. I had endured so much pain, so much abuse, sexual abuse, it was all so hard to just move through that I thought the only way to make this better was to end my life,” he said. Perry continued, saying that if any of those attempts had been successful, he then would have missed the very best part of his life, and he encouraged those struggling to reach for help.
