The judge granted her request to be legally single. Neither Kim nor Kanye West were actually IN the courtroom, but their lawyers were there. She was on a video call from her closet for the hearing. Kanye's lawyer did not object to restoring Kim's single status, but he did have three conditions. The judge only granted one – the right to get reimbursement of money that's supposed to be divided up will be preserved in case either of them dies. The other two – that Kim wouldn’t transfer any assets she had in trust, and if she remarries she would waive the “marital privilege” – the judge denied. For the record, marital privilege means that a new spouse wouldn’t have to testify about communications he had with her. There were reports that Kim’s paperwork wasn’t in order. In reality, the only error was that the Kanye’s name had to be changed to Ye, his new legal name.
