Jay-Z Wins Perfume Lawsuit

Congratulations are in order for Jay-Z. A Manhattan jury cleared him in his case with Parlux Fragrances, they sued him for breach of contract for not promoting “Gold Jay-Z” cologne under a 2012 agreement. The ruling allowed Beyoncé’s husband to avoid $67 million in requested damages. It also didn’t give him the $6 million in royalties he claimed he was still owed under the deal. Judge Andrew Borrok told an attorney for Parlux that neither side proved their case after the verdict was read aloud in court. Jay-Z released a statement saying, “I’d like to express my gratitude to the jury, especially during these difficult times.”
