Yesterday, popular social media channels, Facebook, Instagram and WhatsAPP were off line for hours.
Facebook has explained what caused a six-hour long outage to its platforms in a blog post. In the blog post, the social media giant said configuration changes to its routers led to a "disruption of network traffic" that had an impact on how its data centers communicate.
Zuckerberg has also issues an apology, saying "Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and Messenger are coming back online now. Sorry for the disruption today -- I know how much you rely on our services to stay connected with the people you care about." Check out his apology.
Yesterday’s outage cost the company $70-million.
Adding to Facebook’s misery, hackers have reportedly posted the personal information of 1-point-5-million users online – and it’s up for sale.
