Wendy Williams was spotted in Miami after claims she might not be able to visit to celebrate her father's 94th birthday.
On Saturday (February 15), Williams, who currently lives in a wellness facility in New York, was photographed at the Miami International Airport ahead of her father, Thomas Williams Sr.’s, 94th birthday, per PEOPLE.
The spotting comes after Williams revealed that she might not be able to attend her dad's milestone birthday due to her ongoing conservatorship. The former talk show host spoke out about the situation during an emotional interview with Charlamagne tha God on "The Breakfast Club."
"My dad is going to be 94 next month. I don’t know if I’m able to fly to Miami to say happy birthday to my dad," Williams said.
The TV personality added that the "person who is holding me hostage," an apparent reference to her court-appointed guardian Sabrina Morrissey, would be to blame for her missing the occasion.
"Listen, I don’t know if she’s going to let me see my dad for his birthday," Williams said on "The Breakfast Club."
However, a judge later ruled that the former talk show host would be allowed to visit Miami for two days to celebrate. Williams appeared to be all smiles as she made her way through the Miami airport on her motorized scooter on Saturday.
The Williams' spotting also comes after she signed an affidavit requesting a judge remove Morrisey as her legal guardian. Williams' legal team claims she has "regained capacity" to function independently and is no longer suffering from frontotemporal dementia. Doctors diagnosed Williams with dementia last year.
According to reports, Williams is scheduled to be reevaluated by a doctor on Tuesday (February 18). The doctor was reportedly selected by the attorney representing Williams in the case to end her guardianship.
