D.L. Hughley Tests Positive For COVID-19 After Passing Out Onstage

D.L. Hughley revealed he tested positive for coronavirus after suffering a scary incident.

On Saturday (June 20), the comedian took to Twitter to update fans about his health after he collapsed onstage the night before while performing at Zanies Nashville Comedy Club.

Getting on video, Hughley, who was apparently asymptomatic before he fainted, revealed he’ll be spending the next couple of weeks in quarantine at a hotel in Nashville. Consequentially, Hughley’s gigs this weekend have been canceled.

Hughley explained he’d been released from St. Thomas Hospital, where he was treated for “extreme exhaustion and dehydration.” Considering he hadn’t been showing any symptoms of the novel disease, the 57-year-old was taken aback by his test results.

"Apparently, I just lost consciousness," Hughley recalled. "So in addition to all the other stuff you have to look out for, if your a— passes out in the middle of a show on stage, you probably need to get tested."

Footage of Hughley’s scary accident has been floating all across social media. In the clip, the funnyman can be seen sitting on a stool before his speech begins to slur. Worried staffers rushed to the stage to assist Hughley before he fell unconscious and had to be carried off stage.

At the time, a rep for the entertainer said Hughley was "suffering from exhaustion after all the week's work and travel, and was kept overnight at the hospital for tests under doctor's orders. He is awake and feeling better, and wishes to thank everyone for the very kind prayer and thoughts."
